DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., "Canadian Railway Time Service", model 1892, 18 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, ornately damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws and Ohlson micrometric regulator in a silveroid, swingout open face case, and Canadian 24-hour Arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #22017592, c1920.
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Dents, back; Dings and pin pricks; Scratches and abrasion on outer surface of case; Case back with wear from bow; Bow with wear; Crown with heavy wear. DIAL: Numerous faint hairlines. HANDS: Replaced seconds; Oxidation. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches and pin pricks on plate; Marring and scratches to foot of balance cock; Fine scratches on ratchet wheel; Winding wheels with a few specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Train bridge screw missing; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Ticks briefly, needs service.
